An independent building consultancy practice built on professional integrity, technical rigour and genuine client care.
CLM Consulting is an independent building consultancy and quantity surveying practice based in Gloucestershire. We work with commercial clients, property owners, developers and businesses across the South West and wider UK, providing specialist advice at every stage of the property and construction lifecycle.
Our practice was established to offer clients something that larger firms often cannot: direct access to experienced professionals, genuinely independent advice, and a consistent standard of service from first instruction through to project close.
We are not aligned with any contractor, developer or funding body. Our advice is given solely in the interests of our clients — commercially sound, technically accurate and clearly communicated.
We have no contractor relationships, referral arrangements or commercial affiliations that could compromise our advice. Every instruction is approached with complete objectivity.
Our team brings extensive experience across commercial, residential and mixed-use projects. We understand the technical and contractual detail that matters.
We communicate clearly and honestly at every stage. Our clients receive straightforward advice, accurate reporting and no surprises.
Every instruction is different. We take time to understand your objectives and tailor our service accordingly, from initial enquiry through to project close.
Our team brings extensive experience across a broad range of project types and property sectors, including commercial offices, industrial and logistics, retail, mixed-use development, education, healthcare and residential. We have advised on projects ranging from single-property transactions to multi-million pound development programmes.
We test whether a scheme is viable before design is committed, using high-level costs, options and risk so you can decide with a clear figure in mind. That early advice sets a realistic budget and avoids developing a project that cannot be afforded.
We value work in progress, assess variations as they arise, and keep a clear record of what has changed and why. That keeps the contract sum under control and means extras are agreed on evidence rather than argument.
We track committed and forecast cost against the approved budget and report in plain terms so you always know the current position. Issues are flagged early, with options, so decisions can be made before the overspend is locked in.
We review the design and specification to find savings that do not undermine quality, programme or the brief. The aim is a better cost/value balance, not simply cutting items out of the job.
We are happy to discuss your project or property matter without obligation. Contact us to arrange an initial conversation.
